This position is responsible for building and maintaining a book of business by using effective prospecting and sales skills to convert prospects. The position requires confidence and experience assisting clients in meeting financial goals by recommending appropriate plans and products.
Principal Responsibilities
- Sell effectively and ethically; convert prospects to clients
- Help individuals identify their unique financial needs and objectives:
- Establish and define the client/financial professional relationship
- Gather data, including goals
- Analyze and evaluate financial status
- Develop and present financial planning recommendations and/or alternatives
- Implement financial planning recommendations
- Monitor the financial planning recommendations
- Analyze clients’ income and asset situation, as requested; at least once annually, review and update financial situation
- Recommend plans and products to help clients achieve goals; identify appropriate investment and insurance strategies (e.g., estate issues, tax considerations, retirement planning, business planning objectives)
- Provide personal client service:
- Work effectively with affiliated professionals who also serve as financial professionals to clients
- Develop and sustain relationships with other in-house professionals and strategic alliances; when necessary, refer clients to strategic allies (e.g., attorneys) to ensure that needs are met
- Respond to client questions and concerns
- Schedule and plan client meetings using the CRM system
- Actively participate in networking, community and firm events
Required Knowledge / Skills / Competencies
- BA or BS degree is preferred
- Life & Health License is required
- Excellent knowledge and communication
- Prospection skills, Client Relationship skills, and Sales Oriented
- Proficiency in computer programs, including MS Office Suite
Experience Financial Professional
- BA or BS in business or finance; advanced degree/designation a plus (e.g., MBA, CFP®, or CPA)
- Life & Health License is required
- FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 65 or 66 securities registrations is plus
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the business
- Excellent knowledge and communication of financial planning concepts and terminology
- Excellent knowledge and communication of products, including mutual funds, stocks, bonds, insurance policies, and annuities
- Comfortable discussing estate planning issues
- Proficiency in computer programs, including MS Office Suite
Management
Principal Responsibilities:
- Training, mentoring and motivating a team of financial professionals
- Sourcing, attracting, interviewing and selecting quality individuals to join your team and our company
- Conducting field training and joint field work with your agency team
- Overseeing sales meetings and orientations for new and veteran sales agents
- Supporting financial professional’s sales activity and accounts
- Building and maintaining relationships with financial professionals, clients and other decision makers
- Supporting corporate culture that thrives on high energy, competition, collaboration and fun
- Developing and maintaining broker relationships
Recommended experience and skills:
- 3-5 years of financial industry sales experience
- Experience in building and leading a team of independent sales agents
- Recruiting experience
- Insurance sales experience
- Life & Accident/Health Insurance License, 6, 7, 62, 65, and 66 is plus
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently
